Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the Nigerian Minister of Science and Technology spoke nicely during his meeting with the United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) which was held in Abuja, Nigeria not too long ago.
The points that attracted the attention of Viewers Corner are where he mentioned the employment and empowerment of youths in Nigeria and also the importance of science and technology. These aspects he spoke about are key points to development in any economy be it advance or a developing nation because we (Viewers Corner) believe that science and technology is the future and having a great man, an exceptional individual like Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu as the minister of science and technology in Nigeria, surely the Nigerian government has made a good choice by appointing him to handle this important area of the Nigerian economy.
Again, we (Viewers Corner) are quite certain that Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu would deliver nicely and if science and technology is properly developed in Nigeria, it can create employment and lots of other benefits that come with it.
Viewers Corner’s advise on this is that the Nigerian government should make funds available for research and development because without enough fund, the ministry of science and technology would not be able to function very effectively. Nigeria needs to move forward and take a center stage in the world’s economy by using science and technology to achieve this objective, the time is now to get started.
