In line with the investigation which was carried out by the committee set up by the President Buhari’s administration to look into the illicit financial deals that went on in Nigeria during Goodluck Jonathan’s regime, some senior military officers who were implicated have promised to return the money they embezzled based on the information reaching Viewers Corner.
We also learnt that the committee have not concluded their investigations, that means more and more facts may be out as time goes on. This will show the Nigeria public the extent to which the Nigeria economy under the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration was managed, lots of Nigerian politicians became billionaires over night, no proper accountability during that period. Assuming this committee set up by President Buhari did not do their job properly, no one would know that some of these officials embezzled these money while millions of ordinary citizens of Nigeria can barely feed well.
Now the former President, Goodluck Jonathan is traveling around the world as a hero because he handed over government peacefully to President Buhari after his defeat, the truth is that Goodluck Jonathan has no choice than to hand over the affairs of the country Nigeria to President Buhari who emerged the winner of the presidential election held on the 29th of March 2015. Again, Goodluck Jonathan had nothing to offer the Nigerian public, his administration and Shehu shagari’s administration of the 80s were among the worst Nigeria has ever had since the country gained her independent from Britain in 1960. If Goodluck Jonathan was given another mandate to continue as the President of Nigeria, it would get to a point where Nigerian naira would not be able to purchase any good thing in the country. His policies then was borrowing money to feed the Nigerian people without thinking of the implications, honestly economics does not work like that. However, Viewers Corner would leave this topic for another time, the good thing now is that Muhammudu Buhari is the President of Nigeria and he is on the right lane to bring Nigeria back on track, the only thing Nigerians need is to support the Buhari’s administration so that he can get the job done properly which would benefit everyone in the country (Nigeria).
