Mauricio Macri, an Argentina opposition candidate (Conservative) has won the country’s Presidential election held on Sunday, November 23, 2015 thereby defeating Daniel Scioli, the ruling party candidate.
Mauricio Macri’s win of Argentina’s presidential election marks the end of President Cristina Fernandez who along with her late husband, Nestor Kirchner dominated the country’s political scene for 12 years. According to report, the outgoing President, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner preferred Daniel Scioli to succeed her but unfortunately he was defeated by Mauricio Macri with 53 percent of votes while Daniel Scioli had 47 percent. Mauricio Macri is the outgoing Mayor of Buenos Aires and comes from one of the country’s richest families.
