The One hundred and five thousand naira proposed by the finance minister of Nigeria as a new minimum wage is fair enough.

We are appealing to the Nigerian Labour Congress to start with the one hundred and five thousand naira as a minimum wage, if the government of Nigeria can approve it. The Viewers Corner News team believes that one hundred and five thousand naira is fair enough. Again, we plead with the management of the Nigerian Labour Congress to ask Nigeria’s government to look into how they can stabilize the cost of various items in the market through various government agencies in the country; if not, one hundred and five thousand naira minimum wage, if approved, may not be able to buy essential commodities in the market. The government of Nigeria should also make it mandatory for all state governments in Nigeria to pay the new minimum wage, if approved. If not, some state governments would not pay their workers. Even the thirty thousand naira minimum wage that was approved to be paid to workers was not paid by some state governors. Those governors were complaining that it was too much for them to pay, and now if the one hundred and five thousand naira becomes a new minimum wage, most state governors would still not pay it. So a law that will make it mandatory for them to pay this new minimum wage, if approved, should be passed. This could be the only way workers can get their money.
