How can some members of the All Progressives Congress and some of those working under President Bola Tinubu’s government accused Mr. Peter Obi and the Obidient movement of causing the crises between the Nigerian Labour Congress and the government of Nigeria? This is laughable. Nigeria is a place where lawmakers receive on a monthly basis almost 30 million naira as a total pay, while the ordinary worker in Nigeria gets a minimum wage of just 30 thousand naira monthly, and they all go to the same market to buy their items. Looking at the hardship in the country, Nigerians both at home and abroad would understand that the ordinary Nigerian worker is passing through a severe economic hardship. This prompted the Nigerian Labour Congress to demand a pay raise for the workers in Nigeria, and they have every right to do so. This has absolutely nothing to do with Mr. Peter Obi and the Obidient movement. We are therefore calling on the government of Nigeria and those calling out the Obidient movement to leave them alone and focus on how they are going to fulfill the demands of the Nigerian Labour Congress. Another surprising aspect is that the lawmakers of Nigeria receive hardship allowances, wardrobe allowances, entertainment allowances, and many more; these are irrelevant allowances that should not have been paid to them. If you pay hardship allowances to already-well-to-do individuals, who then would pay the ordinary struggling Nigerians such allowances? These are the ordinary Nigerians who stood in the sun and rain trying to cast their votes for these corrupt lawmakers in Nigeria to lead the country, which is so sad. Again, the Viewers Corner News team joins the Nigerian Labour Congress, calling on the government of Nigeria to give them what they are demanding for the workers of Nigeria. They deserve to be paid nicely because they are the powerhouse of the Nigerian economy.
