Viewers Corner News wrote articles concerning the activities of Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, the president of Angola in the past who has been in power for so many years, he is regarded as one of the longest serving presidents in Africa. He is no longer practising democratic system of government, we do not know what to call his kind of government anymore. Recently Jose Eduardo Dos Santos appointed his daughter the chief executive and head of the country’s oil firm (Sonangol), honestly this position is huge. Normally as the law of the land (Angola) specifies, such appointment should have to pass through the parliament before it can be approved but in this situation, Jose Eduardo Dos Santos (the president of Angola) ignored the parliament and went ahead and gave the post to her billionaire daughter, Isabel Dos Santos (a 43 year old billionaire who is among the richest in Africa) based on Viewers Corner News findings. Somehow there is nothing too wrong appointing your daughter to such important position in the country (Angola) but it should have been done on merit because they are lots of women in Angola who are more qualified than your daughter Isabel Dos Santos which should have been given that position but that was not done, this is not fair at all. The interesting and funny aspect is that this man does not obey the constitution of the land anymore, now the people of Angola including the rights group in the country and around the world have started asking questions.
Again Jose Eduard Dos Santos said he would step down from power in 2018 but lots of people in the country (Angola) whom Viewers Corner News correspondent spoke with said that this is not the first time Jose Eduardo Dos Santos is making such promise, they did not believe him because when that time comes, he would not step down. We are appealing to Jose Eduardo Dos Santos to please have a changed of mind and do what is right for the people of Angola, he should step down as he has promised when the time comes. Again he should also release those political prisoners in the prison because we believe that they are exercising their God given rights to express their opinion on how best the country (Angola) should be governed, somehow everyone understands that democracy permits us to express our opinion on an issue as we see it and no one should be jailed for doing so. This is just an appeal from concern citizens of the world.
