Nigerians deported from United Kingdom arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos (Nigeria) in a chartered B767 aircraft belonging to PITAN Airways on Wednesday morning, November 25, 2015.
Viewers Corner’s correspondent in Lagos learnt that about 50 Nigerians who were deported by the British authorities were alleged to have committed different offences in the country. Those deportees (about 44 males and 6 females) accused the British government of maltreatment saying that they were not allowed to take their belongings before leaving the country. Viewers Corner was also informed that some of those that were deported as a result of staying illegally in Britain were allowed to go to their various destinations after being screened at the cargo terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) while others alleged to have committed criminal offences were handed over to the officers from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos. British government plans to deport about 29,000 Nigerians due to the country’s migration removal policy and this was the first batch according to report.
