NIGERIA’S AVIATION MINISTER SAID THAT NIGERIA WOULD APPLY THE PRINCIPLE OF RECIPROCITY WHEN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS RESUME.

It was reported that Nigeria would block flights from countries that refused Nigerian flights to land in their countries due to coronavirus restrictions. The country’s aviation minister Hadi Sirika made this known on Thursday, 20 August. According to him, “the principle of reciprocity will be applied”, meaning that if you ban Nigeria from your country, Nigeria will apply same to your country. The director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority said authorities were still drafting the list, but that the European Union countries would be among those in the list because they ban Nigerians. The Nigeria’s international flights is expected to resume on 29 August 2020.
