Lagos state governor

Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has increased secondary school fees in his state, while Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has declared free education for secondary schools in Abia State.

Some state governors in Nigeria should not have been elected to lead their states because they lack the ability and wisdom to lead. Another problem of some governors in Nigeria has to do with timing. It is true that every leader of a state would want to generate income to enable him or her to implement projects in the state, but it should be done through other ways. If you look at the economy of Nigeria right now, Nigerians would agree that the economic hardship is biting Nigerians. So increasing school fees for children at this critical period would add extra burden on parents, like it is now in Lagos State. Such an increment should not have come at this period when parents are trying to manage the little they have for their families. Hence, we are appealing to Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to look into other areas to see if he can get some relief for parents in Lagos State because it is not going to be easy for them, especially those with more children in different schools in the state. We applaud Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for making free education possible in his state.
