Angelique Kerber of Germany put a strong fight and defeated the tennis queen, Serena Williams of the United States in the women’s singles final at the Australian Open tennis championships in Melbourne (Australia) on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Angelique Kerber who now has the Australian Open title was supported by the crowd at Rod Laver Arena and after two hours on the court, she defeated Serena with 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to become the champion. Though Serena Williams played an aggressive style in the second but luck was not on her side and this is Kerber’s first Grand Slam title.
