Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) reported that hundreds of school girls kidnapped by gunmen from a boarding school in Jangebe, Zamfara state have regained their freedom. Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state confirmed the school girls’ release on his twitter message on Tuesday where he stated that gunmen have released the abducted students of GGSS Jangebe from captivity. Last week Friday, unknown gunmen kidnapped about 279 girls from Government Girls Science Secondary (GGSS) School in Jangebe town, Zamfara. Recently, the armed groups have targeted schools for mass abduction for ransom in northern Nigeria. The school boys kidnapped from their school in Niger state (Nigeria) on 17 February 2021 were released on Saturday. In 2014, Boko haram terrorist group kidnapped more than 270 schoolgirls from their school in Chibok and up till now over 80 girls are still missing.
