We are appealing to the northern elders and other groups who are trying to block farmers in the northern part of Nigeria from sending their farm products to the south. We want to remind them that those northern farmers need cash to get other essential items that they need, which can only be possible when they sell their farm products. Sometime ago, an embargo was placed on the sale of onions, which affected the northern farmers so badly. Almost all the onions produced during that period got spoiled, and a huge amount of money was lost. So such a method should not be introduced again. If the south cannot produce enough to sustain them, then it becomes absolutely necessary for the north to produce and sell to the south. If the north refuses to sell to the south, then the south can use their money to buy whatever food items they need from somewhere. Again, the Viewers Corner News team is appealing to those northern groups to allow free movement of food items to the south; blocking such essential items may not be in the best interest of Nigeria. Let there be peace.
