YAIR LAPID, ISRAEL’S NEW FOREIGN MINISTER, TO VISIT UNITED ARAB EMIRATES NEXT WEEK.

It was reported that the Israeli new foreign minister will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next week, June 29-30. This is the first visit to be made by Israel’s top diplomat to the UAE. According to the report, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will inaugurate Israel’s Embassy in Abu Dhabi and a consulate in Dubai. His visit to the UAE follows the normalization of relations between the two countries last year, which was facilitated by the administration of the United States’ former president, Donald Trump. Israel and the United Arab Emirates have also signed agreements to cooperate in technology and commerce. Israel has also normalized relations with Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco.
