A 43 year old Philadelphia man, Shaun Thomas has left prison in Frackville as a free man after spending 24 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Shaun Thomas was 16 years old when he was accused of being part of the group who murdered one businessman in 1990. When he (Shaun Thomas) was arrested years after the murder, Thomas insisted that he was at another court hearing with his mother and sister when the crime was committed but a jury did not buy that testimony. Shaun Thomas was represented by the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, along with attorney and former Philadelphia police Sergeant (James Figorski) for 8 years and their efforts made him to be set free from the prison.
