WOULD PATIENCE JONATHAN (THE EX-FIRST LADY OF NIGERIA) AND HER LAWYER STILL CLAIM THAT SHE IS INNOCENT AFTER SOME COMPANIES THAT ASSISTED HER IN MONEY LAUNDERING WERE CONVICTED BY A COMPETENT COURT OF LAW IN NIGERIA?

It is true to an extent that most lawyers in Nigeria and around the world would know the truth but would want to bend it by arguing in their client’s favour, this aspect is quite understandable, but on the other hand it would also be better when a good lawyer would advise his or her client to seek plea bargain most especially in a country (Nigeria for example) that has already been ruined by corruption and the government in power (President Buhari’s government) is trying to put things right. This aspect would be of great benefit to everyone in the country (Nigeria) and taking a guilty plea when we know that we have wronged the system would do us a whole lot of good. This can also restore our credibility rather than letting our lawyers push us into continuing the case when he or she knew that at the end he or she would lose the case. Most lawyers are not being honest to their clients because of monetary gains involved which means the longer the case stay, the more money lawyers make. This is exactly what is happening in the case of Nigerian ex-first lady Patience Jonathan, her lawyers are not advising her properly. Now that those companies that assisted her as alleged in this money laundering case involving millions of dollars have been convicted, what would be her faith now?
Our ( Viewers Corner News team) advice to her when this issue first broke out was to get a good lawyer who would advise her nicely and also by searching her mind to know if she can take a plea-bargain, return what you allegedly looted back to the federal government of Nigeria and save yourself the embarrassment and at the same time tax payers money. No one would put you into prison if the truth was made known earlier and the process president Buhari and his government are using is like that of the truth and reconciliation process.
Let all Nigerians join the democratic process to rebuild the country (Nigeria), this is exactly what president Buhari and his government are fighting for. Again it is only the truth that can help Nigeria to move forward, by politicians owing up to their mistakes and returning the huge sum of money they stole from the treasury of Nigeria. However Nigerian lawyers should reconsider their stand in defending some of these corrupt Nigerian politicians, advise your clients to take a plea when it is necessary to do so.
As concern citizens of the world, Viewers Corner News and the advisory team would continue to give advice when it is necessary.
