There is nothing too bad about borrowing money to finance viable projects that would bring benefits to the people of the country, like the Viewers Corner News team said in its previous articles. The problem is that in APC/president Buhari’s led government, one would not really identify where all these huge loans are being used in the country. The Viewers Corner News team is deeply concerned about the well-being of Nigerians and future generations, because borrowing large sums of money at all times without making good use of it may have a negative impact on the country in the long run. These lawmakers at the National Assembly of Nigeria should do a critical analysis of the APC/president Buhari’s led government loan taking before giving approval. Till today, Nigerians did not know if APC/president Buhari’s led government had competent economists working with them as a team who would always advise the federal government of Nigeria on economic matters. If the government of President Buhari does not have any, it is better to have them now so that they can give advice on issues of the economy. Another troubling issue is that before president Buhari’s recent loan request was made, some loans had already been taken which would seriously affect the country in the long run. Nigeria as a country should learn to manage her resources nicely and stop this system of borrowing money at any giving point. It would also be nice if Nigeria would look inward to see if there are ways the country can cut costs and use the available resources to put things right.
