WHY WOULD THERE BE CONFUSION IN THE COUNTRY (NIGERIA) AS SPECULATED BY SOME GROUP OF PEOPLE IF EX-PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN IS ARRESTED ASSUMING, IS HE ABOVE THE LAW?

Any country that does not respect the rule of law may always lack behind, again one of the reasons for laws to be made, obeyed and applied in all aspects is to correct excesses of various kinds in the society no matter who is involved. In Nigeria some group of people are saying that if ex-president Goodluck Jonathan is arrested, there would be confusion. We (Viewers corner) are pointing it out to any individual or group that such statement is wrong and misleading. Assuming an offence was committed by the ex-president Goodluck when he was in office, that means he should not be called upon to give an account of that mistake?
The law is for everyone in the country (Nigeria) despite the person’s status and if any wrong doing when he was in office is linked to him, he should be called to give account. This is the only way Nigeria can build a healthy nation free of corruption and other acts of indiscipline. We have also seen in some parts of the world where ex-leaders of various countries were sent to jail when they were found guilty of an offence therefore Nigerian ex-president should not be an exception if he is linked to any crime. We are appealing to all the groups within the country (Nigeria) to assist in encouraging transparency and good governance. If anyone goes against the law, he or she should be made to account for his or her mistakes because no one is above the law.
