If there is something the government of Nigeria is doing to get the citizens of other countries in the continent of Africa angry, to the extent of attacking their embassies, then time has come for Nigeria as a country to put a stop to it. If there is nothing the government of Nigeria is doing to anger those African countries attacking her embassies, then from now on Nigeria should stand firm by telling the governments of those countries where Nigeria has her representatives (embassies) to stop these madness immediately or face serious problems. Sometime ago, Ghana demolished a part of building housing Nigerian embassy and Nigerians living in Ghana are facing series of attacks as alleged, same happened in South Africa sometime ago and now it is the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). If all these would happen in the continent of Africa, then where is that unity of Africa? Normally no one or any government of a country has the right to attack any country’s embassy, it is unheard of and against international law but all these are happening in the continent of Africa and the federal government of Nigeria is not speaking out as expected. This is absolutely wrong and condemnable. However, these countries in Africa that keep attacking Nigerians and her embassies should understand that Nigeria as a country is showing maturity and leadership skill which those African countries should not take for granted and if it continues, Nigeria may react negatively to end such humiliating attacks on her citizens and their embassies. African countries who have chosen this negative part to keep on hurting Nigeria’s interests should stop now, maintain and respect the unity of Africa.
