WHY WOULD GOVERNMENT DELAY THE SALARIES OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT WORKERS IN VARIOUS STATES IN NIGERIA, THIS IS NOT FAIR AND HOW DO YOU WANT THEM TO FEED?

Our (Viewers Corner) correspondent was in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state (Nigeria) recently when a protest was staged by angry local government workers who claimed that their salaries have not been paid by the government for four months. Viewers Corner felt terribly sad about the situation, this is surprising to us. How would these workers feed their families? The government should understand that these workers have children in various schools, how can they cope with the hardship in Nigeria at the moment? It would bite them more hard if the only source of income for them is not forthcoming, this is not fair. We (Viewers Corner) are appealing to the Bayelsa state government and every other state governments that are owing workers’ salaries in various states (Nigeria) to please try their best to pay the salaries of their workers.
If after working, an individual does not receive his or her salary from the authorities, certain wrong ideas could start getting into his/her system and if one does not control himself or herself, this could lead to crime as a means to survival. This is one aspect the government of Nigeria should try and look into, honestly some people in Nigeria may take to crimes because they want to make a living but if the government can make provision for someone to survive, he or she may not take to crime. In order to avoid or minimize crime in the country (Nigeria), government should provide a means for the citizens to survive. Therefore, we are appealing once again to all the state governments in Nigeria to please make sure that salaries of the workers in their various states are paid properly without delays.
