WHY WOULD A STATE GOVERNMENT THAT GETS MONTHLY ALLOCATION FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FAIL TO PAY WORKERS SALARIES AS AT WHEN DUE? ONDO STATE IS ONE OF SUCH STATES IN NIGERIA.

Viewers Corner News correspondent in Lagos visited Akure (Ondo state, Nigeria) recently and some of the workers he spoke with revealed to him that for some months, their salaries have not been paid. This unpaid worker’s salary system in most states across Nigeria is troubling most especially in Ondo state (Nigeria) and some of these unpaid workers are health personnel in the state. If you fail to pay workers’ salaries, how do you want them to feed themselves and their families, including other expenses? One thing some governors in Nigeria do not understand is that, not paying workers salaries may increase criminal activities in your state because people must make a living either ways, hence we (Viewers Corner News team) are calling on the governor of Ondo state (Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu) including other governors who are owing workers in their states to kindly pay them. It is very wrong to owe workers in your state, pay them their salaries. It is their right and should not be negotiable. The federal government of Nigeria made sure that monthly allocation gets to every state across Nigeria, therefore salaries of workers should be the governor’s first priority before thinking of building any infrastructure for the state. People could starve to death if their salaries are not paid for them to buy food and eat. People could die if their salaries are not paid because when they fall sick, there would be no money to go to hospital and get treatment. People could develop high blood pressure and other deadly illnesses if their salaries are not paid and many more. Based on these and more, we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing to Ondo state government and every other state government across Nigeria that is in this category of owing workers’ salaries to kindly pay them and save the lives of the people of your various states.
