Running a country is different from running a company and no single individual can run a country alone no matter how small or big the country may be, the services of strong economic team who would advise the government on issues of economic development is very important to nation building. Again since president Buhari’s government took over power, we are yet to see or know what his economic team are doing concerning giving him and his government useful advice on the way forward especially now that Nigeria is in recession or could it be that president Buhari does not have any economic team as people in Nigeria have said? If it is true, then something is wrong somewhere because more good heads are better than one. No matter how intelligent we may be, we do need the advice of others to be able to put things right therefore president Buhari should review his system generally and if he does not have any economic team that would always advise him on matters of the economy, then he should kindly assemble one as soon as possible. It is only in the military regime such practice may be possible because they are ruling with guns but as long as democracy is concerned which is government of the people, you need an economic team. It does not have to be in their large numbers, no, just a few individuals with sound knowledge of economic policies, planning, implementation and control. This is what you need now so that they can assist your government get out of this recession that is hitting the country (Nigeria) in a terrible manner.
