WATER SHORTAGE IN ABAKALIKI (EBONYI STATE), A BAG OF SACHET WATER SOLD FOR UP TO ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY NAIRA (N150.00). THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE.

It is the responsibility of every state government to place priorities more on very essential things of lives which people in the state need. A good government should always think ahead and have a second plan assuming the unexpected happens, this is one of the qualities of good governance. It is always very good to build infrastructures just like the past government in Ebonyi state did which we expect the present government of David Umahi to continue from where the past government stopped by adding more facilities that would better the lives of Ebonyi state people which he failed to do but he collects taxes on almost everything in the state. Again it is unheard of for a capital city of any state to lack good drinking water when there is a functional government in the state, we believe that before this shortage of water hits Ebonyi state, a warning sign may have been ignored and because the government of David Umahi is thinking only one way that is why such problem could hit Ebonyi state so hard. We (Viewers corner) also believe that if proper reforms were carried out by the government of David Umahi on certain essential projects, such shortage of water would have been controlled before it gets to the poor people of the state. What we are trying to express here is that if he cares for the welfare of people in the state, certain issues should have been taken care of in a better manner before it gets to the extent of hitting the people of the state in such a terrible way. Water shortage can be controlled so that the people would not feel the pains of the scarcity so much, therefore we (Viewers corner) are appealing to the government of David Umahi to plan ahead, get real with the people of Ebonyi state. Now scarcity of water just happened in Abakaliki, who knows what would come tomorrow if proper control is not put on check. Extra cost would be incurred by the poor people of Ebonyi state who are struggle to feed their families and pay school fees for their children when there is no steady means of getting income.
