Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was the former vice president of Nigeria and has also contested for the primaries of the highest post (President) in the country (Nigeria) during the last presidential election which he lost. We (Viewers corner) have the opportunity of examining his manifestos which he prepared in the past when he came out as a presidential candidate during the primaries under the All Progressives Congress, what he said then and now are very useful. He said that if he had won the mandate to lead the country (Nigeria), he would have sold about ten percent (10 %) shares of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and use the proceeds to build and implement good facilities in the Niger delta region etc. This is a smart move and sounds so good, he spoke nicely like an economist who knows exactly how and what to do if he had been given the opportunity to lead Nigeria.
Our (Viewers corner) concern is that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has been in government for quite sometime but could not implement his ideas, so what made him think that if he is given another chance, he would not deviate from doing the good work and start patronizing his associates? Again this ten percent (10%) shares you proposed selling assuming you were elected the president of Nigeria, how are we sure that it would not go to the people loyal to your camp alone? Again apart from these few questions and worries which we mentioned here, honestly you have a good and wonderful ideas on how you would better the economy of the country (Nigeria) however we (Viewers corner) shall keep on reviewing and bringing out to both the local and international audience the activities of all the would be presidential hopefuls in Nigeria before the next election (2019).
