USAIN BOLT PROVES TO THE WORLD THAT HE IS UNBEATABLE, DEFEATED JUSTIN GATLIN OF UNITED STATES TO WIN MEN’S 100 METRE GOLD.

Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter has proved again that he is unbeatable, he beats Justin Gatlin of United States to win gold medal in men’s 100-metre final in Rio Olympics on Sunday, August 14, 2016. Usain Bolt who won the race in 9.81 seconds has become the first person to win three straight 100-metre titles at the Olympics (Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016). Justin Gatlin (United States) came second at 9.89 seconds to win silver medal and Canadian Andre De Grasse came third at 9.91 seconds to win bronze medal. Andre De Grasse is the first Canadian male athlete to win a medal in Rio.

400 METRE: Wayde Van Niekerk, a 24-year-old from Cape Town (South Africa) broke world’s record in men’s track and field, he defeated Kirani James (defending champion from Grenada) in 43.03 seconds to win gold medal in men’s 400 metre. Kirani James from Grenada came second in 43.76 seconds to win silver medal and La Shawn Merritt (United States of America) won bronze medal in 43.85 seconds.

GOLF: Justin Rose of Great Britain won gold medal in men’s Individual Stroke Play final while Henrik Stenson (Sweden) won silver medal and Marcus Fraser from Australia came third to win bronze medal in Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics.

TENNIS: Andy Murray (Great Britain) beats Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina 7-5, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 in men’s singles at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics to claim gold medal. Murray also made history by being the first tennis player to win two Olympic singles gold medals.

WOMEN’S SINGLES
Monica Puig of Puerto Rico also defeated Angelique Kerber (second seeded from Germany) 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in two hours and nine minutes to win gold medal in women’s singles. The 22-year-old Monica Puig also made history in her country by becoming the first Olympic individual gold medallist in Puerto Rico.
