UNITED STATES TO RECALL 2.7 TAKATA AIR BAG INFLATORS.

Takata Corp (7312.T) is expected to declare 2.7 million air bag inflators in Ford Motor Co (F.N), Nissan Motor Co (7201.T) and Mazda Motor Corp (7261.T) vehicles defective following the new testing. The information was made public by the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. The recall will include some of the driver-side air bags built from 2012 to 2015. Also 627,000 Versa cars from 2007-2012 model years which includes 515,000 in the United States will be recalled by Nissan. Viewers Corner News found out that about 65 percent of 46.2 million Takata airbag inflators which was previously recalled in the United States have not been repaired due to bankruptcy protection filed by Takata in June. About 17 deaths and over 180 injuries worldwide have been linked to Takata air bag inflators. The new recall is likely to cover over 100 million air bag inflators.
