UNITED STATES SANCTIONS RUSSIA’S LARGEST OIL COMPANY (ROSNEFT) FOR HELPING PRESIDENT NICOLAS MADURO OF VENEZUELA.

Russia’s largest oil company, Rosneft was on Tuesday sanctioned by President Donald Trump’s administration for helping Nicolás Maduro, the Venezuelan president. The United States Treasury Department blocked all U.S assets of Rosneft´s subsidiary (Rosneft Trading S.A) and its director (Didier Casimiro). The sanction according to report would affect anyone engaging in activity with the Russian oil company. Banks and other financial institutions are expected to stop doing business with the blacklisted company. Rosneft stated that the sanction was shocking. The company denied engaging in any illegal activities concerning Venezuela. The sanction marks a significant pressure campaign against President Maduro of Venezuela.
