UNITED STATES SANCTIONED UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (UAE) FIRMS FOR SUPPORTING IRAN AIRLINE.

It was reported that the United States Treasury has blacklisted two United Arab Emirates based firms for supporting Iran airline (Mahan Air). The US Treasury said on Wednesday, 19 August that United Arab Emirates based Parthia Cargo and Delta Parts Supply FZC provided key parts and logistics services for already sanctioned Mahan Air. The Iran’s airline (Mahan Air) was blacklisted under United States counterterrorism regulations for its relationship with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force, which U.S accused of carrying terror activities in the Middle East. Steven Mnuchin (US Treasury Secretary) stated that the Iran’s revolutionary Guards has been using Mahan Air to provide support to the corrupt governments of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro as well as the terrorist groups in the Middle East. The US Treasury also sanctioned UAE-based Iranian national Amin Mahdavi which controls or owns Parthia Cargo.
