United States of America have imposed sanctions on Chief judge Maikel Moreno (Venezuela’s chief judge) and seven other members of the country’s Supreme Court for taking over power from the country’s opposition-led congress in March. According to the report, the assets of these sanctioned members of Venezuela’s supreme court within United states jurisdiction will be frozen, also the citizens of the United States will not do business with them. The US treasury secretary, Steven Mnuchin said that the aim of the sanctions is to show that United states is supporting the Venezuelan people in their efforts to protect and advance democratic governance in their country (Venezuela). Despite Venezuela’s huge oil reserves, her people are suffering due to President Nicolas Maduro’s government mismanagement and corruption.
