UNITED STATES HAVE FORMALLY EXITED FROM GLOBAL CLIMATE PACT, FULFILLING PRESIDENT TRUMP’S PROMISE TO WITHDRAW THE COUNTRY FROM THE PARIS AGREEMENT.

It was reported that the United States have formally exited from the Paris Agreement (global climate pact) to fight climate change, thereby fulfilling President Trump’s promise to withdraw the country from global climate pact. Patricia Espinosa, executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) said that the United States withdrawal would leave a gap in the global efforts to achieve the goals and ambitions of the Paris Agreement. Joe Biden has promised that he will rejoin the United States to the Paris Agreement if elected as the president of the United States. In 2017, President Trump announced his intention to withdraw United States from the global climate pact, stating that the 2015 Paris Agreement undermines U.S. economy. The United States formally served notice of its withdrawal to the United Nations on 4th November 2019, then becoming the only country out of 197 signatories to have withdrawn from the Paris Agreement.
