TYPHOON LINGLING STRUCK KOREA PENINSULA, KILLED FIVE PEOPLE IN NORTH KOREA AND THREE IN SOUTH KOREA.

It was reported that five people have lost their lives in North Korea and three others in South Korea after Typhoon Lingling struck Korea Peninsula. Also 13 people were injured in South Korea and three injured in North Korea. Our correspondent gathered that 460 houses and 15 public buildings were destroyed in North Korea by the Typhoon Lingling. In South Korea, the storm destroyed buildings and about 161,640 homes were without power. It is likely that more typhoon-related casualties and damages would be reported in North Korea, considering the country’s poor drainage, deforestation and poor infrastructural facilities. This is one of the most powerful typhoons to ever hit the Korea Peninsula.
