TWIN BOMB EXPLOSIONS AT A MOSQUE IN BENGHAZI (LIBYA CITY) HAVE CLAIMED THE LIVES OF NOT LESS THAN TWO PEOPLE AND WOUNDED SEVENTY FIVE OTHERS.

It was reported that bomb explosions which occurred during a Friday prayer (February 9, 2019) inside the Saad Ibn Ibada mosque in Berka district (Benghazi, Libya) have killed not less than two people and wounded about seventy five others. According to the report, the bombs were planted in bags in separate rooms inside the mosque and seems to have been activated remotely using a mobile phone. Libya has been experiencing security problems since 2011 uprising that overthrew and killed Moammar Gadhafi. The country has been split between Libyan National Army led by commander Khalifa Haftar and Islamist militia opponents including those linked to Islamic State and al Qaeda.
