Viewers Corner News correspondent in Ankara reported that Turkey issued 133 warrants for the arrest of military officers accused of having links with the U.S. based Muslim cleric (Fethullah Gulen). According to the report, 45 provinces were raided recently and 101 of the suspects were arrested. They were accused of having links to Fethullah Gulen’s network. The 32 other suspects are being searched for and 82 of the suspects are currently serving in the military. Since the 2016 failed coup in Turkey, about 77,000 people accused of having links with Fethullah Gulen’s network have been arrested and at least 130,000 people including the military officers have been dismissed. Fethullah Gulen (the U.S. based Muslim cleric) was accused by the Turkish government of being a brain behind the 2016 failed coup in the country. He (Fethullah Gulen) denied the allegations.
