TURKEY’S AUTHORITY ARRESTED 124 PEOPLE SUSPECTED OF HAVING LINKS WITH THE ISLAMIC STATE GROUP.

Viewers Corner News correspondent in Ankara learned that Turkey has arrested 124 people suspected of having links with the Islamic state group. According to the report, at least 33 foreigners were arrested in Ankara in a joint operation by the country’s anti-terrorism police and the national intelligence agency. Also 31 houses were raided by police in Istanbul and 24 suspects, including four foreign nationals were arrested. In the city of Batman (southeast Turkey), 22 suspects were arrested. Turkish police also conducted raids in the cities of Adana, Kayseri, Samsun, Bursa and 45 people including six foreigners were arrested. Turkey stated that the Islamic state suspects arrested were from Syria, Morocco and Iraq. This is Turkey’s recent sweep against terrorists. It was reported that in 2019, Turkey deported about 778 jihadist group back to their countries of origin, accusing the European countries of not taking responsibility for their nationals.
