TURKEY GOVERNMENT HAS SUSPENDED 12,800 POLICE OFFICERS OVER ALLEGED LINKS TO FETHULLAH GULEN’S MOVEMENT.

Viewers Corner News was informed that Turkey has suspended 12,801 police officers including 2,523 police chiefs over alleged links to the movement of Fethullah Gulen (US-based preacher who Turkey accused of masterminding the July 15 attempted coup in the country). According to the report, these suspended police officers will be receiving a two-thirds of their salary pending the outcome of the investigation. The government also stopped a pro-Kurdish television channel (IMC TV) from transmitting, officers entered the IMC TV headquarters and cut off transmission while it was live on air. The television was accused by Turkey government for supporting Kurdish militants. Many people have been arrested or lost their jobs after the July failed coup in Turkey which tried to remove President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from power. On Monday, Turkey authority extended a three month state of emergency which was declared after the failed coup to another 90 days.
