Viewers Corner News correspondent learnt that a Tunisian court in Kairouan has sentenced six students in the country practising homosexuality to three years in prison each. In addition to their three years jail terms, they are banned from the central city for five years after serving their sentence. They are also to undergo an anal examination and many human rights groups especially the Rights Group Amnesty International have condemned the court’s ruling calling for immediate and unconditional release of the six students. The country’s interior ministry spokesman, Walid Louguini has defended the ruling saying it is their duty to uphold the law.
