Lots of Nigerians have taken to crimes, perhaps because of frustration on a bid to earn a living which is not the best option. Sometime ago, the Southwest elders paid a visit to President Buhari according to Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) to inform him that they can no longer keep quiet by pretending not to know that Nigerians are being killed on daily basis, thereby making the country (Nigeria) a danger zone for people. It was also revealed that armed robbers are blocking most highways in Nigeria in a broad day light, robbing passengers and killing them too which is bad. In response to the demands of those Southwest elders who paid President Buhari a visit, he (President Buhari) promised them that his government shall install CCTV equipment and drones to fight those criminals who are terrorising innocent people of the country (Nigeria) which is good to an extent but our (Viewers Corner News team) advice to President Buhari and his government is this; first identify why Nigerians in their large numbers are going into crimes. Once this is established, then a method on how to meet their demands which we (Viewers Corner News team) believe to be unemployment based on the statistic available to us. These are mostly young men who left higher institutions of learning long time ago without jobs. We (Viewers Corner News team) believe that with proper planning, the federal government of Nigeria would be able to take care of those young men who are doing crimes. Installing CCTV is good but should not be the number one priority. First, make provision for constant power supply to the people of Nigeria, use the billions of Naira which would be spent on CCTV and drones to provide jobs for the people of the country (Nigeria). With this, crime may be reduced in Nigeria. CCTV installation should be the last option because many things are involved in such project which we (Viewers Corner News team) shall discuss in our next article.
