Democracy gives us the right to protest most especially when our rights are being denied and also should be regarded as a means to pass our messages across to the authorities which is very alright and in so doing, it shows that everyone in the country (Nigeria) is part of the democratic process. In as much as we are carrying out these protests, we should know why we are doing them, we should not sell our conscience or use sentiments as a means to protest for anyone who allegedly has lots of skeletons in his or her cupboard knowing fully well that we may be protesting for the wrong reasons. Again we should not allow someone to buy us over for no reason, whether the person is from our community or not. We should protest for the right reasons and not because someone is asking us to do so assuming. Now the little description of what we have explained above goes to show what some mothers in Nigeria are doing, they are protesting for the former first lady of Nigeria (Patience Jonathan) asking the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and president Buhari’s government to reinstate Patience Jonathan’s frozen bank accounts. Now you all doing these protests are mothers, do you ever ask yourselves how this woman ( Patience Jonathan) got her money to build all the billion Naira investments scattered all over the country (Nigeria)? In one of her hotels in Nigeria, a night there goes for about 370,000 Naira which she built with public money as alleged and she has also been given conflicting statements on how she got her millions of dollars which the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has frozen. Our mothers, do you also ask yourselves why your children till today can not be able to find a job after graduating from the university? All these were the handiwork of corruption and the inability of the past leaders to plan properly when things were better. Again Patience Jonathan, the former first lady of Nigeria allegedly used her position to enrich herself and now great mothers of Nigeria are protesting for her. Honestly this is not right, somehow we expect you mothers to read the hand writing on the wall and know when and how a protest should be carried out, certainly not for Patience Jonathan. The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and president Buhari’s government are trying their best to eradicate corruption in the Nigerian society, therefore they are doing their job the way it should be done. Freezing Patience Jonathan’s bank accounts does not mean that she would not get the money back, no that is not the case here, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) is investigating her (Patience Jonathan) activities on how she acquired such huge amount of money including her billion Naira investments. If the investigation is concluded and no evidence of corrupt enrichment is found, then she can get her money back therefore we (Viewers Corner News and the advisory team) are appealing to all those that are protesting for the former first lady (Patience Jonathan) of Nigeria to kindly allow the law to run its full course because we believe that she will never be jailed if she is not guilty of any offence.
