Information reaching Viewers Corner News from our correspondent in Abuja revealed that about 20 billion Naira given to the government of Kogi state under the leadership of governor Yahaya Bello to assist in paying workers’ salaries, including other expenses, was deposited in a bank in Nigeria so that the money could yield interest for the corrupt governor Yahaya Bello. Only God knows how long that bailout money was kept in that bank. The Viewers Corner News team sees this as a criminal act committed by governor Yahaya Bello and his government in Kogi state. If it were in a country where laws and order were working properly, such a governor would have faced impeachment for betraying the people of his state by denying them their rights. In Kogi state, workers and pensioners’ allowances have been owed for months, if not years, and the bailout money which would have been used to assist those workers and their families was stockpiled in a bank while workers and pensioners go hungry in Kogi state. The good thing here is that the bank account into which the alleged 20 billion Naira was deposited has been frozen. If a governor can do this to his people, then Nigerians should think about what would happen if a whole country was put in the person’s care to manage. The Viewers Corner News team studied almost all the governors in Nigeria and their states. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state was among those who performed below average. He (governor Yahaya Bello) does not know exactly what leadership is all about. As a governor, the people’s welfare should be your number one priority because they brought you to power to use the available resources of the state in your care to put things right, so that the people of your state will have the necessary things in order to have a good life, which most governors in Nigeria deny their people. This discovery, allegedly made in Kogi state by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria, is also affecting other states in the country. If a proper investigation is carried out, one would find out that most governors in Nigeria who are owing workers’ salaries and pensioners’ allowances have used their bailout money for other purposes. The Viewers Corner News team would use this opportunity to plead with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria to also look into the affairs of other states if it is possible by law to do so, in order to know how the bailout fund was used. Most of these governors in Nigeria are so wicked and do not care about the welfare of their people. As it is, most of them are now warming up for the 2023 elections, drawing plans on how much money they will steal from the treasury of their various states through every means available to them, rather than planning on how to pull the people of their various states out of poverty, which is bad.
