THIS IS UNFORTUNATE AND DISHEARTENING FOR NIGERIAN MINISTER OF MINES AND STEEL (DR. KAYODE FAYEMI) TO HAVE USED SUCH SENSITIVE STATEMENT AGAINST THE NIGERIAN YOUTHS INSTEAD OF ENCOURAGING THEM AT THIS CRITICAL PERIOD. TOO BAD.

The recent statement made by the Nigeria minister of mines and steal asking the Nigerian youths to stop whining that nobody owe them anything etc. was a very careless and reckless statement coming from someone at his level. This statement was allegedly made during the recent convocation at the university of Lagos. We also gathered that he told the Nigerian youths how he drove taxi and worked as a guard to finance himself. Now we would like to remind Dr. Kayode Fayemi who is the Nigeria minister of mines and steel that life in any advance country can not be compared to that of the third world countries, the difference is clear. We say so because the money you earned as a part time worker and at the same time studying your programs at the university in most advance countries is reasonable, though it is hectic but still very ok. Most Nigerian youths would like to do that job if only such opportunity is presented to them, therefore using that to qualify the present situation which the Nigerian youths are passing through is not right. What we (Viewers Corner News team) expect from you  (Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Nigerian minister of mines and steel) as a leader is to use your skill nicely by encouraging and at the same time giving inspirational advice to the Nigerian youths instead of discouraging them. Again we would also remind you that the position you are occupying today is not because you are more intelligent than the Nigerian youths of today but because you had the support of someone somewhere who led you to glory, that is why you are there. On the other hand no individual in this world makes it alone without the help of someone, therefore we are appealing to you (Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Nigeria minister of mines and steel) including other leaders in Nigeria to always encourage the youths and also be mindful of our statements so that at the end what we say does not come back to hurt us. Sometime ago our correspondent in Lagos (Nigeria) told us how one state governor in Nigeria was addressing the striking student in his state, he said that those students have not been going to school for about ten months because their institution was closed down by the state government. This alone is frustrating, what do you think would be the future of those students? Now  as a governor, you were addressing them and using all sorts of dirty languages on them instead of advising them nicely to pay attention to their studies when their institution reopens. How do you expect those frustrated students to give you respect or receive you with happiness? It does not work that way and as a leader, you all in Nigeria should plan your programs nicely and make provision that would accommodate everyone most especially the youths because they are the leaders of tomorrow. They deserve a good beginning. Another terrible aspect is that most Nigerian politicians would promise the Nigerian voters heaven and earth but the moment they are sworn into office, you would not see them near you anymore which is bad. Please let us as leaders choose our words nicely and be committed to them. Even if we do not have all the necessary funds to implement our programs, it would be better to speak to the Nigerian public in a more encouraging manner rather than inflicting more pains on them through our statements. Right now the people of Nigeria are passing through severe hardship and deserve to be encouraged in a more positive way which would bring joy to their daily lives.
