Rene Angelil (Celine Dion’s husband) died on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home in Henderson (Las Vegas) after battling with throat cancer for years. He was 73 years old. René Angelil and Celine Dion met when she was 12 years old and Angelil was 38 years old, since then, he has been in the Singer’s life serving as her manager and mentor. According to report, René Angelil mortgaged his home to fund Celine Dion’s first record, “La Voix du bon Dieu”. The couple were engaged in 1991 and got married in December 1994 at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec. In 2001, the power couple welcomed their first child together (René-Charles Angelil) and their twins (Nelson and Eddy Angelil) were born nine years later.
