THIS IS A GREAT MOVE BY THE NIGERIA NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, IF A DECISION CAN BE REACHED AND PASSED INTO LAW (THE ABOLITION OF STATES, LOCAL GOVERNMENT JOINT ACCOUNTS). THIS IS A GOOD NEWS ON THE MAKING.

Our (Viewers Corner News) correspondent in Nigeria informed us that the Nigeria National Assembly is working very hard to abolish the states, local government joint account system and if a decision on this is reached, it would be passed into law.
This idea is a good one because in Nigeria, some state governors are using their position to take what rightfully belong to the local governments and at the end, the local governments can not do their job effectively but if a law is put in place which would give the local governments in Nigeria the right to their own funds without the interference of state governors, then that would strengthen the operations of the local government. Having said this, the lawmakers should also include in the bill a system that would not give the local government the loophole to embezzle public funds because our (Viewers Corner News team) findings in the past revealed how local government officials in Nigeria used the funds in their care carelessly without achieving any positive result. There should be checks and balances in all aspects so that success can fully be achieved in all the local governments across the country (Nigeria).
