It was reported that 37 people were killed and over 60 others wounded in eastern Burkina Faso when unknown gunmen opened fire on a convoy transporting Canadian gold mining workers (Semafo). In a statement released by Semafo, the attack on Semafo workers with military escort happened on the road to its Boungou mine in the eastern region of the country. Also the number of dead may increase as there were a large number of people still missing including security forces.
