THESE WERE MR FANI KAYODE’S WORDS; “I SPEND, I DON’T TAKE, I AM NOT A POOR MAN AND WILL NEVER BE POOR”. A FORMER MINISTER AND A LAWYER. VERY INTERESTING.

If Mr Fani Kayode is smart enough, he should have used indirect way to answer the question thrown to him by a journalist during the press conference which he already answered without knowing it. Now hear this; a question was thrown to Mr Fani Kayode on issue of bankrolling. During the period he was abusing the journalist, Mr Fani Kayode said; “I SPEND, I DON’T TAKE”. “I AM NOT A POOR MAN AND WILL NEVER BE POOR”. A FORMER MINISTER AND A LAWYER. In our (Viewers Corner News team) opinion, Mr Fani Kayode has already answered the question thrown to him by the journalist during the press conference in the sense that since you are not poor and as a former minister of aviation, you can afford to sponsor your trips across the states of the country. It is a perfect answer which should not have made you be angry with the journalist. This again brings us to a topic called “Anger control”. As a public figure, most especially when you are in the public, you should try your best to control your anger at all times if anyone provokes you by asking any question that makes you uncomfortable. Ignore it or say no comment at that moment such question was asked. It is better to be quiet than saying things that would ruin your political career. We (Viewers Corner News team) shall give tutorial on this topic in our future article. Viewers Corner News team would use this opportunity to advise journalists in Nigeria to know that their profession is a noble one, they are the mouthpiece of the world and on no account should you render an apology to anyone for asking a harmless question. Take it or leave it, that is the truth. For asking a question means that an individual would want to know the true position of what is going on depending on the type of question being asked at that point in time, therefore Mr Fani Kayode was very wrong for attacking the journalist during the press conference. He should not have done so at all. Even the apology Mr Fani kayode rendered for calling the journalist stupid was not properly done, meaning that if those close to him did not tell him to render an apology, he might have not done so. However, journalists in Nigeria should not be intimidated by anyone and as a journalist, it is your duty to publish what you see as the truth without fear or favour. Do not take brown envelopes as Mr Fani Kayode said from anyone and change the truth to something else, such practice is against the principles of your profession. Always be fair in all your dealings with the public as a journalist.
