THERE IS A MISSING LINK HERE, THE SULTAN OF SOKOTO (ALHAJI SA’AD ABUBAKAR III) ONLY ANNOUNCED 12TH. SEPTEMBER TO HIS FOLLOWERS AS EID EL- KABIR DAY AND NEVER DECLARED IT A PUBLIC HOLIDAY. IT IS ONLY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THAT HAS THE POWER TO DO SO.

It is only the federal government of Nigeria that has the power to declare public holidays in the country (Nigeria) and not a single individual no matter the status or position the person occupies in the society, government is a collective thing and not an individual thing. We would also use this opportunity to plead with Nigerians to always read more informative articles from various reputable social media organizations before drawing conclusion on any issue because we have seen that lots of misleading information are coming out from different sub-standard media sources  and lots of people do not verify the authenticity of the story before drawing conclusion. Please it would do us a whole lots of good to verify our stories before commenting and in so doing, it would give us the real understanding and true picture of what we seek, please do not read only from one newspaper or from one online source before drawing your conclusion because some sub standard social media outfits just write misleading articles to sell their papers. Journalism does not work that way, please read widely before making your judgement.

We (Viewers Corner News team) are saying so because lots of people in the country (Nigeria) concluded that the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III had declared 12th. September as public holiday without properly verifying their story which he never did. He only announced the date to his followers as Eid el-Kabir day which is normal and we do not see anything wrong about that. Again announcing and declaring are two different words, so we should tread carefully because little issues like this may create confusion in the country taken into consideration the setup of Nigerian system. Again Viewers Corner News and the advisory team joins our Muslim friends in celebrating the holiday.
