Viewers Corner News correspondent in New York reported that medical experts advising the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have recommended emergency approval for the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. The decision was taken after a 23-member panel met to weigh the benefits and risks of the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. The United Kingdom, Canada, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia recently approved the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. The vaccine is expected to be formally approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chief, which may happen in days according to the report. Alex Azar (the US health secretary) said that if the vaccine is approved after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) meeting, the United States could have the vaccine within days and would be administered to the most vulnerable persons first. Pfizer is planning to have 6.4 million doses ready for the United States in its first rollout round before December ending. The United States has a total population of 330 million and two shots of the vaccine are required per person, so 6.4 million doses are enough for three million people.
