Viewers Corner News was informed by our source in Tehran that Iranian government has banned the United States wrestlers from participating in the Freestyle World Cup competition that will be hosted by Iran this month. According to the information, the ban was announced on Friday and it is the first action taken by Iran after President Donald Trump’s executive order banning visas for seven Muslim countries including Iran. The competition is to be held in Kermanshah (western Iranian city) on 16-17 February, 2017. The United States freestyle wrestlers have competed in Iran-hosted wrestling competitions (Takhti Cup) for up to 15 times since 1998 while the Iranian wrestlers have visited USA Wrestling 16 times as guests since 1990s.
