THE UNITED STATES ON WEDNESDAY IMPOSED SANCTIONS ON TWO NETWORKS THAT HELPED IRAN BOOST ITS NUCLEAR PROGRAM.

It was reported that the United States has imposed sanctions on two networks that helped Iran in boosting its nuclear program. The U.S. Treasury Department stated that one of the networks used a Hong Kong-based front company to avoid sanctions and target U.S. technology and components on behalf of Iranian government and its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The other network obtained aluminum alloy products controlled by the Nuclear Suppliers Group on behalf of companies owned or controlled by Iran’s defense ministry. The U.S. Treasury Department also imposed sanctions on individuals connected to the two networks. The United States has increased economic sanctions on Iran in order to discourage the country (Iran) from moving ahead with its nuclear program. President Donald Trump of United States said recently at a news conference that he would be open to meeting with Hassan Rouhani (Iran’s President) but President Rouhani said he would only have talks with President Trump if U.S drop its sanctions against Iran.
