THE UNITED STATES NAVY SEIZED AN ARMS SHIPMENT BOUND FOR YEMEN.

It was reported that an arms shipment of thousands of assault weapons, machine guns and sniper rifles hidden aboard a ship in the Arabian Sea bound for Yemen, probably to support the Houthi rebels, was seized by the United States Navy. The U.S. Navy announced this on Sunday, 9 May. According to the report, the U.S defense official stated that the Navy’s initial investigation found that the vessel came from Iran. This comes as the US and other countries work to end Yemen’s year-long war, which began in September 2014 and has been described by the UN as one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
