It was reported that the United States government under President Joe Biden has put temporary hold on the sales of several foreign arms, including those of F-35 fighters to the United Arab Emirates worth $23 billion. Those massive foreign arms sales to Gulf Arab countries which the administration of former President Donald Trump initiated were harshly criticised by the Democrats in the Congress. The U.S State Department said that the temporary halt is a routine administrative action to allow the new government review the United States foreign arms sales. During the ending months of former president Donald Trump, his government authorized new arms sales worth billions of dollars including plans to send 50 F-35s to the United Arab Emirates.
