State governors in Nigeria who are nursing the ambition to lead Nigeria should first put their states in order. The Viewers Corner News team is saying so because we believe that charity begins at home. If you cannot lead your state nicely, then the whole country will not be safe under your leadership, so fix your state first and other things will fall into line. Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has declared his intention to lead Nigeria in 2023 while the unemployment rate in his state is about 40 percent, according to statistics. This figure is huge and no voter would like to cast his or her vote for any governor with such an unemployment rate in his state to be the president of Nigeria. Again, such a high unemployment rate in Ebonyi state may deny governor David Umahi the opportunity to lead the country, assuming he wins the mandate of his political party to contest for the post of president of Nigeria. Governor David Umahi receives monthly allocations from the federal government. The internally generated revenue of the state is also there. Instead of investing in projects that would benefit the majority of the people of Ebonyi state, Governor David Umahi directed his attention to irrelevant projects. He built flyovers in the state that were not needed during this critical period of economic hardship, instead of looking into other areas of investment that would create jobs for the unemployed people of his state. This system is also affecting other states in Nigeria. Nigeria’s governors carry out wrong investments that would enable them to steal most of the money, hence the unemployment rate in their various states is so high. The Viewers Corner News team is again appealing to governors in Nigeria to do their homework properly and invest wisely so that the unemployed people in their various states can be employed.
